26 Jan Grand Hotel Sitea
The Grand Hotel sits in a neoclassical palazzo proudly flourishing gilded Empire-style decor, large French windows and a wood-panelled American bar. Service is old-style, too: charming and unobtrusive. The luxury 5-star Grand Hotel Sitea is located in the centre of Turin, right behind Piazza San Carlo and a 10-minute walk from Piazza Castello. A free gym is also available. All air conditioned and en suite, the elegant rooms at Grand Hotel Sitea come with an LCD TV, minibar and safe. Each has a marble bathroom, some with a spa bath and sot bathrobes. Free toiletries and slippers are always provided. Breakfast is a varied and abundant buffet, and it is served in the hotel’s garden during the warm months. The Egyptian Museum and the Royal Palace are both nearby. Shops and restaurants surround the Sitea.
I am delighted to say that the grand hotel sites fulfilled all my expectations and exceeded them. While the hotel is clearly of a Victorian vintage, or perhaps older, it has been delightfully renovated and would certainly count as being modern inside. It is thoroughly clean. The bathrooms are beautiful. The TV received all the satellite stations I required. There is fast and free Wi-Fi. Breakfast was international with about 1 million items laid out but of course with an Italian twist with a lot of hams, cheeses and good coffee. The staff are indeed very friendly and at the same time highly professional.
Guests can enjoy on site the Michelin starred restaurant Carignano, with his young chef that is carving a great reputation of skill and attention to details. Marco Migliioli’s skill is to be seen and tasted. The wait staff too are very diligent to your needs and their attention to detail is unsurpassed. A real delight to your senses and certainly a meal to be had to mark a special event in Turin.
