The Lowdown
Regarded as one of Switzerland’s best wellness hotels, Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is a medical health centre and therapeutic thermal spa providing clinical and holistic health services in a luxury resort setting. The resort is built around the Tamina Gorge hot spring, a natural thermal water flow which runs at 36.5 degrees and was first discovered in 1242.
Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is located in the Swiss countryside, approximately one hour from Zurich International Airport. Surrounded by scenic mountains, the colossal resort grounds are situated between the Rhine and the Alps, giving guests a quintessential Alpine experience.
The Rooms
Sprawling over the grounds of two hotels (the Grand Hotel Hof Ragaz and the Grand Hotel Quellenhof & Spa Suites), Grand Resort Bad Ragaz’s epic facilities form one giant luxury resort experience.
The Spa Suites are divided into six categories: ‘Spa Loft’, ‘Spa Loft Superior’, ‘Spa Loft Deluxe’, ‘Spa Suite’, ‘Presidential Suite’, and ‘Penthouse Suite’. Equipped with modern amenities, all rooms embody classic elegance while embracing contemporary design.
All suites have parquet flooring, oversized beds (equipped with high-tech ’Air Touch’ sleeping systems), floor-to-ceiling windows and private terraces that overlook the surrounding vineyards and mountains beyond. They also have space-age bathrooms with whirlpool baths, steam showers and sauna cabins that all use healing thermal water.
The resort features two swimming pools—indoor and outdoor—along with extensive water, fitness, salon, and medical facilities. Guests can visit nearby vineyards, golf courses and ski slopes if they’re looking for active off-site activities, too.
Services and facilities
The thermal spa on 6,050m² is a sensorial source of power for the body, mind and spirit. The body-temperature thermal spring water from the nearby Tamina Gorge boasts healing properties for ultimate wellbeing. Hotel guests have free entry to the unique spa and sauna area at the Tamina thermal baths. This holistic spa experience is complemented by the medical expertise of the renowned Medical Health Centre and the Clinic Bad Ragaz, where patients will benefit from comprehensive five-star care.
