The Lowdown

Mr. Ferruccio Ferragamo purchased Il Borro in 1993. He used to go hunting on property with previous owner, Duke Amedeo D’Aosta. Because of this passion he discovered this magic place. The hospitality project started a few years later and it is still going on. The origins of the village of Il Borro are lost in the history of medieval Tuscany and the famous people who established the reputation of the region. Every alley, every stone full of flavours and scents recall a rare and authentic Tuscany. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, in the shadow of the cypress trees of the ancient Via dei Sette Ponti, (an area rich in art and culture between the three main cities of Tuscany Florence, Arezzo and Siena), Il Borro is an open window to history, a fresco to a far away world. The Medici dynasty, the Savoia family and now the Ferragamo family have safeguarded and preserved this precious oasis suspended between past and present; a sanctuary dedicated to wellbeing and the art of niche hospitality.

The Rooms

The 38 enchanting rooms and suites are spread among the ancient medieval village. Rooms feature spacious bedrooms and breathtaking views, while suites offer terracotta or parquet floors and marble bathrooms. Select suites boast fireplaces and charming private terraces. The rooms are an elegant portrait of the classic Tuscan style, slightly revisited.

Services and facilities

Il Borro Spa offers a spacious gym, yoga studio, and spa suite focused on regenerating treatments. The Myoxy Caviar treatment is an extravagant wellness experience that uses caviar extract to smooth and rejuvenate the skin.

Food & Drinks

Osteria del Borro offers a bistro-style menu that focuses around grilled Tuscan–inspired creations and features an extensive Italian wine list. Il Borro Tuscan Bistro is part restaurant, part wine bar with an intimate dining room adorned with medieval paintings.
