The Lowdown

The Grand Hotel Atlantis Bay is located in the beautiful Taormina, right on the shore of the sea, in front of the bay of Sirens, a place of enchanting beauty. A place where history and myth meet in a unique setting. Built like an ancient village on a cliff that descends to the sea, the Grand Hotel Atlantis Bay has on its beautiful terraces the outdoor restaurant, the swimming pool and the sea shore.

The Rooms

VOI Hotel Atlantis Bay’s 83 upscale rooms and suites fall into six categories, ranging from the entry-level Superiors to the Suite Atlantide, the top-of-the-line suite with a bar, living room, dining area, and large terrace. Despite the category, all rooms have a furnished, stone-pillared balcony with potted Mediterranean cacti and flowers, overlooking the blue bay. Additionally, all rooms have flat-screen TVs, espresso machines, and free Wi-Fi.

Food & Drink

Free buffet breakfast is included with the stay. Enjoy a bite to eat at the hotel’s fine-dining restaurant, or relax with a drink at the bar/lounge. Savor a meal from the privacy of your room with 24-hour room service, or get a pick-me-up at the coffee shop/café.

My opinion

This is a very attractive hotel built into the cliff and located in a private bay with lovely views. The nice bits are the exceptional staff, all friendly and nothing too much trouble, the wonderful breakfast – excellent choice and quality, lovely rooms  and comfortable chairs as well as nightime turndown service something that not all 5 star hotels offer. There is a lovely pool with plenty of comfortable sun beds and complimentary fruit kebabs were a nice touch mid morning. We had dinner one night by the pool by candlelight which was very romantic and superb fine dining backed up by excellent service. Overall a beautiful hotel with a 5 minute walk to the cable car to Taormina so convenient if you fancy going to town for dinner but if you like to be by the sea this cannot be beaten the restaurant of the Hotel.
